Shift in tone at White House over Egypt

Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in Egypt?  Until recently, the Obama administration has gone out of its way to praise the Egyptian military for its stabilizing influence and its apparent progress in moving toward a national election.  CNN reports that the White House has had a “major shift” in tone regarding the generals:
Gee, who was it that said that quick elections in Egypt would be a disaster? Unfortunately, by pushing to have Hosni Mubarak resign just eight days into the Tahrir Square protests, Barack Obama boxed Egypt into a corner. Either hold quick elections that only the Muslim Brotherhood would be organized enough to exploit, or have the military keep power for an extended period of time and continue to stir up unrest in Egypt. The notion that “the street” should determine Egypt’s course is even more fraught with peril, as Ynet News reported today (via JWF):
A Muslim Brotherhood rally in Cairo’s most prominent mosque Friday turned into a venomous anti-Israel protest, with attendants vowing to “one day kill all Jews.”
Some 5,000 people joined the rally, called to promote the “battle against Jerusalem’s Judaization.” The event coincided with the anniversary of the United Nations’ partition plan in 1947, which called for the establishment of a Jewish state.
However, most worshippers who prayed at the mosque Friday quickly left it before the Muslim Brotherhood’s rally got underway. A group spokesman urged attendants to remain for the protest, asking them not to create a bad impression for the media by leaving.
Speakers at the event delivered impassioned, hateful speeches against Israel, slamming the “Zionist occupiers” and the “treacherous Jews.” Upon leaving the rally, worshippers were given small flags, with Egypt’s flag on one side and the Palestinian flag on the other, as well as maps of Jerusalem’s Old City detailing where “Zionists are aiming to change Jerusalem’s Muslim character.”
Muslim Brotherhood spokesmen, as well as Palestinian guest speakers, made explicit calls for Jihad and for liberating the whole of Palestine. Time and again, a Koran quote vowing that “one day we shall kill all the Jews” was uttered at the site. Meanwhile, businessmen in the crowd were urged to invest funds in Jerusalem in order to prevent the acquisition of land and homes by Jews.
Yeah, that’s a great outcome for the US — trading Mubarak for a short-lived democracy that will catapult the Muslim Brotherhood into power and touch off a new war with Israel.  Good luck moving through the Suez Canal next year!
The generals in Egypt have decided to keep power for a little while longer with former Mubarak figures, but not because they didn’t try to get some reformers to work with them:
Egypt’s embattled military rulers appointed a new prime minister Friday as fiery crowds of supporters and opponents took to the streets, exposing the severity of a split over the leading role of the nation’s long-revered armed forces on the eve of parliamentary elections.
As the largest crowd of the week-long protests gathered in central Cairo’s Tahrir Square to demand that Egypt’s military chiefs step aside, thousands of angry Egyptians demonstrated near downtown in support of the generals and “stability.” A small pro-military group also turned out in the port city of Alexandria, where pitched clashes between anti-military council protesters and security forces continued. …
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of protesters poured into Tahrir Square, the birthplace of what most are calling Egypt’s unfinished revolution. They rejected the appointment of Kamal el-Ganzouri, 78, who had served as prime minister during Hosni Mubarak’s presidency. He was asked to form a new cabinet to replace the caretaker government that resigned this week amid deadly clashes between security forces and rock-throwing demonstrators.
The military chiefs chose Ganzouri after holding intensive discussions with more prominent figures such as Amr Moussa, the former Arab League chief, and Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate who formerly headed the International Atomic Energy Agency. Both turned down the job after demanding broad powers, according to political figures briefed on the meetings.
In Washington, the White House called Friday for the new government to be “empowered with real authority immediately” and for elections to go ahead “expeditiously,” leading to a full transfer of power to a civilian government. The U.S. administration has been hesitant to fully support protesters against the Egyptian military, an institution that receives billions of dollars in U.S. aid.
Is military rule a preferable outcome?  Not at all.  However, we should have tried to work through Mubarak first rather than rush to throw him aside.  Meanwhile, the State Department insisted for months of brutal repression in Syria that Bashar Assad was a “reformer” with whom we could work despite his alliance with Iran, while we castigated and abandoned one of the rare Arab leaders willing to keep peace with Israel.  Whatever that was, it certainly wasn’t “smart power,” and this outcome was predictable.

If the Palestinians had had another enemy, it's the jews of morroco ,north africa as well not the so called gulf arabs ,other arabs too and also the shia arabs in the arab world and the gulf becuz the religion of SHIA CULT and Judaism share a lot of unique teachings unfound in other religions and cults.

When Allah took him unto Him, there was scarcely twenty white hairs in his head and beard.

The latest in Arab claims? That Jerusalem was built by the Arabs, and Jerusalem is not a Jewish city.  Really?  Arabs and Islam weren't around when the Holy Temple stood, and even the Arabs recognize this, as their name for Jerualem, 'Al Quds' means 'The Holy' which is an abbreviation for another Arabic name used for Jerusalem -"Bayt al-MaQDeS" (The Holy House).  What Holy House? Why, it is the Hebrew "Beyt ha-MiKDaSH", which means "The Holy Temple" and Islam had and has, no Temple, only the Jews did.  Check out the history HERE and  HERE
Also, Leftists, and the Occupy Wall Street foolish ones seem to either be naive, or live in a dream world.  How can they believe that communism or socialism would solve the world's ills, when we have already seen the evil it has wrought?  Sound serious?  Actually, it's funny, as Dan from Jerusalem comes on and shares what went on around the water cooler at his job, in this segment called, 'The Guy Who Works With Leftists".   An educational, yet fun show!

Palestinians Trying to 'Wipe Out Jewish History'

CBN News
JERUSALEM, Israel -- An Israeli official says that the admission of Palestinians as a member state of UNESCO has emboldened them to claim Judeo-Christian biblical sites as their own.
The United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization admitted the Palestinians as a member state Nov. 1.
One of those sites is the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. Four thousand years ago, the Bible says Abraham bought the cave in Hebron to bury his wife Sarah. Isaac, Jacob and their wives are also buried there.
But Palestinians want UNESCO to recognize the Cave of the Patriarchs and other sites as Muslim holy places in "Palestine."
Israeli government minister Yuli Edelstein said the Palestinian request is not about peace.

"Their demand is not about cooperation. Their demand is a political demand to wipe off all the traces of the Jewish history and Jewish connection to the region," Edelstein said.
The cave is currently divided between a mosque and a synagogue so each faith has a place to pray.
Israel was highly criticized when it announced plans to improve the site last year and include it as an Israeli heritage site.
The head of the Islamic authorities in Hebron said at the time that the site is holy only to Muslims.
"It is a pure Muslim holy place and there is no right for non-Muslims to be here or to pray here, and I'm against the presence of the Jews, even in the old city," Haj Zeid al Ja'bari, general director of Islamic Religious Authorities in Hebron, told reporters then.

Even before UNESCO admitted what it calls Palestine as a full member this month, it had already called the Cave and Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem "Palestinian sites."
The Palestinian Authority now also wants the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to be deemed a Palestinian site. The church is built over the site many believe to be the birthplace of Jesus.
Palestinians are also threatening to sue Israel for what they say is stealing Palestinian antiquities and attempting to change what they call the Islamic and Arabic character of Jerusalem's Old City.
Israelis say Jews and Christians alike should be concerned. Based on past experience, they won't likely be able to visit the site in Hebron if it comes under Muslim Palestinian control.

"We know for a fact that when the authorities were not Israeli authorities, Jews were not allowed even to be here," Edelstein said.
"The concept of an Islamic holy place is that no one else is allowed to be here," said David Bedein, bureau chief, Israel Resource News Agency.
"The concept of a Jewish holy place is exactly the opposite," he said. "When there's a Jewish holy place, everyone can visit."
Bedein said that in 1975, Israel's then-ambassador to the U.N. Chaim Herzog answered an Arab challenge to Israel's rights to the Cave by using the Bible to make his case.
"He opened up the Bible to Genesis 23 and said, 'This is our right. We purchased it.'"
"It's ours and we're going to live here," he continued. "We're going to pray here and we're going to invite all the nations of the world to pray with us here.'"

TV news reader: "Israeli TV Channel 1, during the first part of the prisoners' exchange, deliberately rebroadcast an interview held in the past in prison with the [now] released female prisoner Ahlam Tamimi to incite against the prisoners."
Ahlam Tamimi: "My mission was just to choose the place and to bring the Martyrdom-seeker (i.e., the suicide bomber). [I made] the general plan of the operation, but carrying it out was entrusted to the Martyrdom-seeker."
Ahlam Tamimi: "I told him to enter the restaurant, eat a meal, and then after 15 minutes carry out the Martyrdom-seeking operation. My job was to realize, for this Martyrdom-seeker, the happy life that he wanted."
Interviewer: "Didn't you think about the people who were in the restaurant? The children? The families?"
Ahlam Tamimi: "No."
Interviewer: "Do you know how many children were killed in the restaurant?"
Ahlam Tamimi: "Three children were killed in the operation, I think."
Interviewer: "Eight."
Ahlam Tamimi: "Eight?! Eight."
[PA TV (Fatah), Oct. 23, 2011]

Note: Terrorist Ahlam Tamimi led a suicide bomber to the Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem in August 2001. 15 people were murdered in the attack, many of them children. In October 2011, Tamimi was released from Israeli prison as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas.

Navarre, Spain-- Porrotx Pirritx and two clowns who were council members of the outlawed Batasuna in Lasarte (Guipúzcoa). Never condemned an attack by ETA. One of his recent performances has evolved into a town of Navarre, in the Palestinian cause indoctrinating children from a public school.

Porrotx Pirritx and have made several videos for the approach of ETA prisoners to Basque prisons, considering the "suffering" of their families. The city of Bilbao came to veto its presence in the Great Week and not allowed to act in the children's activities scheduled.

The two 'clowns' began a few months ago the local ikastola Arbizu to intervene in a day of fraternization between the Basques and the Palestinians. It was a union party "Euskal Country" and "Palestine", which was attended by students, parents and teachers.

The clowns made a video of his visit to the ikastola Navarre has had access to the Confidential Digital. This was what they did that day:

- The clowns came into the classroom and children, very young, they were wearing traditional Arab dress and with a Palestinian flag in front. Teachers and parents also dressed in the same way.

- The class is decorated with Palestinian flags and Euskadi.

- In the classroom there was also a recreation of the Palestinian wall Playmobils made. The Israeli military weapons were depicted.

- The clowns yelled "Gora Palestine" and "Gora Euskal Country" in the middle class.

- After that, the 'clowns', parents, children and teachers took to the streets in a parade of fraternization between the people of Euskadi and Palestinian.

In the video you recorded, you can hear the song "free Palestine". At the end of it, see pictures of the clowns in his journey to Palestine, where they spent two summers ago.

Germany won't back Palestinian quest for UN membership

The Palestinian bid for membership in the UN stands little chance for success in the Security Council. Along with Washington which has threatened to use its veto power, Berlin also opposes the Palestinian quest.

When the Palestinians filed their application for UNESCO membership in late October, Germany voted against it. They still made it into the UNESCO by a large majority and celebrated their moment of success. But things are a lot more difficult when it comes to the United Nations themselves. The powerful Security Council decides about bids for membership, and the chances for the Palestinians look bleak.
One vote was clear from the beginning: The US - a close ally of Israel - will oppose the application. France and Great Britain will likely abstain, and Russia and China have announced their support. And Germany? It's opposed to the plans as such, but hasn't indicated yet whether it will abstain or vote against them. The German government has said it wants to see the resolution first before making a final decision.
Israel's security as raison d' être

In September, Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian autonomy authority, filed the application for full membership in the UN - ignoring strong warning signals by Israel and the United States. It was Abbas' reaction to a long hiatus of peace talks and continuous construction of new settlements on Palestinian land.
By taking his case to the United Nations Abbas drew global attention to the Palestinians' fate again and strengthened his own position at the same time. Berlin however was puzzled by his move. Israel's security is a central pillar for German foreign policy, so it was no big surprise that Berlin warned of a new escalation of violence in the Middle East.  More Here

The Vanishing Little Star of Bethlehem

News coming out of the Middle-East in the last few months has focused on two principal areas: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the so-called “Arab Spring”. The headlines have been restricted to these two topics. Buried deep within the bodies of such prestigious papers as the New YorkTimes, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times, if covered at all, are stories of the on-going destruction and persecution of millennia-old Christian communities within the cradle of Christianity: the Middle-East. The phenomenon is not exactly new; it’s been going on for decades if not centuries, but the growth and spread of Islamic fundamentalism within the last decade and the overthrow of Western-oriented Arab dictatorships has set in motion a rising tide of anti-Christian behavior that threatens to wipe out Christianity in the Middle-East in what amounts to a repetition of what has occurred to Jewish communities throughout Islamic nations within the past six decades since the creation of the Jewish State of Israel.
Five nations that demonstrate the ongoing obliteration of Christianity in the region will serve to illustrate the point: Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and Iran.
We start with Egypt, a nation of eighty million with a 10 % minority population of eight million Coptic Christians. The Coptic Church is one of the world’s oldest, and its appearance in Egypt precedes Islam by at least half a millennium. Earlier this past month, Copts throughout Egypt organized demonstrations to protest the fire-bombing of a church in upper Egypt the prior week, as well as one  back in mid-March, and the on-going campaign of harassment by Islamists in the region. At the October 9, 2011 demonstration in front of the Maspero district headquarters of the national television network, attended by a reported figure of 10,000 Copts,  the Egyptian army opened fire with live ammunition, killing Copts indiscriminately. Then armored military vehicles appeared driving into the crowds randomly, causing widespread mayhem. Final tally: 24 dead and over 300 wounded. The on-going Islamist attacks against the Copts are causing many to consider seeking refuge in the West.
Let’s move on to Iraq. Twenty years ago, Iraq’s Christian community numbered over a million members. A decade ago, out of a total population of almost 24 million, 850,000 identified as Christians. Today, with a population of 30.7 million, the Christian population appears to be less than 335,000. What has happened? Although the new Iraqi constitution guarantees freedom of religion, there is no provision in the Iraqi system for those that wish to convert, especially if it is from Islam to Christianity. And radical Islam has been launching attacks on Christian Iraqis ever since
Saddam Hussein’s ouster. This past year has seen the level of violence increase, starting with last year’s al-Qaeda attack on Our Lady of Deliverance Syrian Catholic Church in Baghdad which left 52 dead. Anti-Christian persecution continues, unabated.
In Afghanistan, along with the country being virtually “Judenfrei” or “Judenrein”, it is now free of any overt symbol of Christianity with the destruction of the last remaining church in March 2010. The U.S. State Department’s recently released report on religious freedom indicates that the small native Christian population feels tremendous pressure to remain out of sight, and the case of the Moslem who converted to Christianity and was nearly executed under Afghanistan’s Sharia law for Islamic apostasy demonstrates that freedom of conscience does not exist in present day Afghanistan despite the presence of American and NATO forces in that country for a decade.
When we turn to the Palestinian Territories, we are looking at the birthplace of Christianity. To see this two millennia community threatened with disappearance must be gut-wrenching for devout Christians. But like it or not, the Christian Arab population of the Holy Land faces the threat of extinction. The causes are many, but explosive Muslim birth rates compared with bare replacement rates among Arab Christians have caused the Christian percentage of the Palestinian Territories to diminish sharply. In actuality, the Palestinian Christian population has increased in the past forty-four years from 42,494 in 1967 to slightly more than 50,000 today. However, because of the changing percentage ratios of Christians to Muslims in the greater Bethlehem area—a region traditionally associated with very high percentages of Christian populations (70-95%)—the decreases to 28-60% appear as precipitous declines. More Here
