Lewd Moroccan Movie Review ... Sexual Obsession, Eroticism, Haram

Love In The Medina

The sexual obsession of a young Moroccan butcher is whipped into a watchable exotic-erotic package.

Hollywood Reporter The Moroccan-Italian coproduction Love in the Medina, a.k.a.The Wings of Love (France) and Loves of an Apprentice Butcher (Italy), combines steamy eroticism with picturesque Orientalism in a heady blend, enthusiastically concocted by Moroccan veteran Abdelhai Laraki. The subject is sexual obsession, a perennial favorite, and the attractive young leads should give this slick-looking drama a leg up as it wends its way through the festival circuit and into selected theaters.
The voice-over of young Thami, wistfully played by emerging actor Omar Lotfi, gives a literary feel to the story, which is adapted from a novel by Moroccan writer Mohamed Nedali. Problematically edited and told in flashback, the film has far more story threads than it can follow, leaving a lot of characters underdeveloped and their stories incomplete.
Thami’s detestable father (Abdou El Mesnaoui) is a stuffy Koranic lawyer who plans a great future for his son, until the boy inflames him by announcing his heart’s desire is to become a butcher. Eventually the father gives in and sets him up in the souk of Casablanca. Thami is overjoyed and doesn’t flinch when the old man orders him to turn over the profits every night when he comes home.
Frankly, there’s one thing Thami likes even more than handling goat meat and liver: it’s handling some of the ladies who visit his shop.  He’s so good-looking they fall at his feet, from the golden-hearted pro Halima (Amal Ayouch) who relieves him of his virginity to the breathtaking Zinab (Ouidad Elma), the unsatisfied young wife of an old soldier. Falling lustfully in love, Thami and Zinab tryst in unlikely places with all the abandon of youth, until the situation turns too hot for comfort.
Their break-up gives Thami some time to shop around and sample other delicacies, including an uninhibited French tourist and a teenage wife his father brings home for him, in hopes of straightening him out.  But his passion for Zinab rages on, all the way to the unexpected ending.
Laraki and cinematographer Roberta Allegrini film sensual atmosphere wherever they can create it, from perfumed souks to rain-soaked streets to draped bedrooms. As elegant as an Italian TV commercial, the sex scenes are hot and visually imaginative without showing much flesh, even in the obligatory Turkish bath scene.

Is Bathing Necessary After Sex ... ual Dreams?

(1) Umm Salama reported: Umm Sulaim went to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Apostle of Allah, Allah is not ashamed of the truth. Is bathing necessary for a woman when she has a sexual dream? Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Yes, when she sees the liquid (vaginal secretion). Umm Salama said: Messenger of Allah, does a woman have sexual dream? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Let your hand be covered with dust, in what way does her child resemble her? Sex and The Habibi

Sex, Nudity, and the Arab (Graphic) Novel
Two novels that I’ve read of late, one from Egypt (Mona Prince’s So You May See) and one by a Syrian (Fadi Azzam’sSarmada), have depictions of sex that would give many God-fearing Anglo readers a coronary. And the atheists, too.
I haven’t seen Hanan al-Shaykh’s interpretation of 1,001 Nights, but English-language reportage on its staging seems full of titillated, heart-fluttering winks.
If 1,001 Nights is one of the foundational texts of Arabic literature, and if Arabs are generally not as terrified of sex as Anglos, then it’s reasonable to expect interesting “sexual content” in Arab novels. Is some of it taboo-breaking for the sake of gaining attention? Well, probably. Is some of it a self-Orientalizing mask for the sake of gaining (Western) attention? Oh, why not.
Still, most of this writing labors in obscurity. Censors pass it by. Parents, librarians, government officials, and other guardians of morality don’t lift their eyes. What intellectuals do in their closets…well!
Sex talk in the Egyptian theater, inspired by The Vagina Monologues, has received some attention from censors. And yes, individual guardians of the public interest at print shops across Egypt will stop a sex scene (or perhaps let it run for a few pounds). But none of the literary (shocking) depictions of sex have gained attention in the manner of one simple, not-particularly-shocking image of a nude twenty-year-old girl.
Youssef writes about this image in The Arabophile, noting, “Had Alia Mahdi appeared nude on an adult dating or porn site, had she sent the picture privately to a million people, had she shown shame or reluctance, no one would have tut-tutted or smiled, neither intellectuals nor horny prudes of the cyber realm.”
What Mahdi’s appearance—and the anger surrounding it—reminds me of is not sex in the Arab novel, but instead the battleground of Magdi al-Shafee’s pioneering graphic novel Metro, and how al-Shafee plays with 1,001 Nights in a piece he penned for the collection Autostrade. Graphic novels, although they are still ignored by most Arab publishers (too expensive! just for kids!) have the potential to set a new literary battleground.
I’m not talking about breasts or sex; I’m not talking about Habibi; I’m talking about literature that was previously kept behind the closed door of (just) words.

New Saudi Law: No Filming Porn In Front of Religious Police

Saudi religious police HQ targeted by sex maniacs
Tried to create a sex video right in front of the police headquarter signboard

Three Saudi men parked their car close to the headquarters of the Gulf Kingdom’s feared religious police late night, got out and started having sex with a woman accompanying them just in front of the massive police signboard.
They were filming themselves with the aim publicising the shot to defame the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the most influential law enforcement authority in the Muslim nation.
The three were half way through their operation when one of them noticed the security camera next to the signboard in the capital Riyadh. They stopped filming, headed for the camera and smashed it before fleeing the scene.
In the morning, Commission members going to their offices were surprised to notice that the security camera was badly damaged.
But examination later showed the film inside was intact and it contained clear shots of the three men while having sex with the girl.
“Within three hours, two of those men were captured and a search is still under way to find the third man and the girl,” Sabq newspaper said.
“Commission members also found a Kalashnikov machine gun with one of the arrested.”

Boogie Nights in Lagos

Lesbian Prostitution, The Secret Sex Trade Booming In Lagos State

Beautiful girls, rich women, money, expensive cars, strip clubs, luxurious hotels —the secret sex trade, exclusive only to women, is now big business in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, P.M.NEWS has revealed, after intense undercover research.

Like in a secret cult, only the initiated understand its cryptic language, esoteric ways, sexual benefits and financial rewards.

For those involved in the bizarre trade, it was discovered during investigation in Lagos Mainland and Island, lesbianism is not new.

Most sex workers with secondary school education agreed that their involvement in the salacious act dates back to their boarding school days when they were initiated by older girls.

Back then, it was just casual sex by girls in their puberty. Today, lesbianism has become a trade, a big but hidden business in the Lagos metropolis.

Dozens of prostitutes informally interviewed during this investigation gave a rare insight into the usually hermetic world of lesbianism in Lagos and the trade now associated with it.

The youngest lesbian prostitute P.M.NEWS met for this article was 16 years old. Most of them were in their early 20s.

Many get involved through seduction. Some are influenced or initiated by friends who are already in the sex trade and have contacts and connections in high places , where women are ready to exchange cash for pleasure.

“I was introduced to lesbianism when I was in secondary school. I was in a boarding school in Benin, EDO STATE” says one of the lesbian prostitutes who introduced P.M.NEWS team into the strange world of lesbian prostitution in Nigeria’s most populous city.

Now a student at the University of Ado Ekiti, the Edo State indigene, shuttles between campus and clubs, hotel rooms or sleek houses in Lagos most weekends to have sex with rich women.

“I have to be in Lagos on weekends because that’s where the business pays well. Sometimes, I travel to Port Harcourt, but most times, I come Lagos.

“I already know how it works here in Lagos. I have a lot of contacts in the strip clubs and I have a lot girls who are into the business and they refer women to me. But it is better to meet the woman yourself because if she is rich, the other girl will not refer you to her, she will take her herself,” she says.

During an outing in Lagos four weeks ago, she remembered with nostalgia, how a rich man once approached her for his shy wife and paid her big money.

“She was shy, she told me. She wanted a girl that night but she could not come to the strip club and her husband picked me for her.

“The husband left us in the room upstairs. He was having some drinks downstairs and watching TV. He later came when we were almost done and gave her a peck. He asked her if I was good. She didn’t answer. She just gave him a peck and smiled,” she said.

She admitted that sometimes, she services men, but added, “It’s better to do it with a girl. She knows how to make you come and she cannot transmit diseases to you.”

There are also risks, she admitted. She remembered how she was approached by “one rich woman with a British accent.

“I agreed to follow her. However, when we got home, there were two other ladies waiting for me. She did not tell me I would be having sex with three women. But I had no choice. I was already there and I did it. I just renegotiated the amount,” she said.

This new trend of prostitution is fast spreading among teenagers, but is not restricted to them.

The high and mighty in the society are involved. Other less fortunate in life are also involved in their level.

Tribe or religion is no barrier. P.M.NEWS was introduced to some lesbian prostitutes who claimed to be Muslims and others said they are Christians.

There were also others, who perhaps, due to the effect of alcohol, did not know which religion they practice.

Unlike the ordinary sex trade between men and women, those involved in the trade said they do not stand by the roadside to meet patrons.

Patrons and sex workers usually meet in some of the strip clubs in Lagos, exchange contacts or leave straightaway for their escapades.

Rich women are involved mainly for pleasure while the workers are in it for money.

“It’s about connection. One person introduces “one person to another and it goes round. They are able to identify themselves through compliments like;oh! I love your legs. You have sweet boobs. You look beautiful,’” another lesbian prostitute told P.M.NEWS in a strip club during the investigation.

She added: “They also wink and look seductively at you. If they get a good response from you, then they know they are with the right person.”

She says some possess a high level of courage.

“They can walk up to any lady they find attractive as long as the environment is safe for them.”

Other prostitutes argued that society women in Lagos who are involved in the trade are very caring.

“Especially if they find you interesting, in the sense that if you are able to make them reach orgasm. They will give you a special treatment such as take you for shopping and keep you as partner even after sex. They can then buy you a car or rent you an apartment,” one of the sex workers said, echoing what was heard from others in their business.

The payment for services rendered is determined by quality service offered by the prostitute.

“It could be sucking their private part or the ability to creatively use your hands to please them,” a sex worker said.

The excellent use of vibrators and a good massage can put one worker at an advantage position.

The fees start from N15000 a night and can reach N100,000 in some cases. The amount dwarfs by far what is paid by men, which starts from N1000 or N2000 depending on the area.

The ghettos are no exception to the trade but the price is relatively poor, it was discovered. It varies between N2000 and N5000.

One sex worker explained that even though the trade is based on connections and recommendations, there are special places where it is easy to get hooked with lesbians. Beauty salon, luxurious hotels, swimming pools and expensive shopping malls were mentioned.

Married women are also involved. They woo girls in need of money, including their friends’ daughters.

Married women in the trade claim that their husbands are either not good enough in bed or too busy to attend to their sexual needs.

“They tell me their husbands do not satisfy them or are too busy and they can’t cheat with another man without being suspected,” a worker told P.M.NEWS.

“The good thing about it is that men cannot suspect them. Any woman can hang out with them and men are not bothered,” a sex worker said.

Some women, the prostitute explained, invite two girls to satisfy them.

The root of this new dimension of prostitution can be traced to “only-girls” boarding schools.

Young innocent girls in such schools are lured into the act by older girls, most time through bullying.

During this investigation, our correspondents interviewed dozens of sex workers mainly at strip clubs and attended a get together by lesbians and bi-sexuals.
